Personal Backround:
Turned Professional upon graduation from St. John’s University. After nine years as an assistant professional, I was appointed the first of my four Head Professional positions. Having worked at many different types of facilities, and instructed all levels of players, the experience I have gained will be a benefit to all of my students.
I have had a very successful playing career in the Metropolitan Section thus far including a 2nd place finish in the 1990 New York State Open @ Bethpage Black Golf Course, site of the 2002 and 2009 US Open. Other playing accomplishments include many top 10 finishes in section events as well as qualifying for the National Club Professional Championship.
Teaching Philosophy:
No two students are alike. We all have different characteristics that allow us to perform. These must be treated as unique along with the personality of the student. All great players have strong basic fundamentals-grip, stance, posture. One should be proficient in reverse order of the shots, putting, chipping, pitching, irons, fairway woods, and lastly driving. All players should keep this game of golf in perspective, relax and enjoy the greatest game ever to be played.
BOOK A LESSON TODAY!! Professional Status: Assistant Golf Professional - B-8 Experience: 5 years Favorite Golfer: Jim Furyk Personal Background: Turned Professional after graduation from Skidmore College while working my way up through the golf operation ranks. During this time, I've had the fortunate opportunity to work with and learn from some of the most accomplished players and teachers in the Metropolitan Section. This experience combined with my knowledge of the latest golf trends in teaching and swing mechanics will enhance the golfing experience for all of my students. My young playing career has included Pro-Am tournaments and sectional qualifying tournaments. Teaching Philosophy: Golf is not a game of perfect,,,, and neither does the golf swing have to be in order to hit consistently accurate golf shots. By utilizing a system of core fundamentals, a tailored plan for improvement can be devised for each individuals unique needs. A plan that also incorporates a person's physical ability and most effective learning cues (whether it's more verbal, visual, or feel oriented), will help anyone achieve their goals and ultimately experience more fun and appreciation for this great game.
